This year Dylan and I had the opportunity to share our birthday celebration with our church family. Dylan celebrated turning 32 and I got to celebrate my 29th birthday for the 6th time this year…hahaha I know last year I wrote a blog about the best birthday ever but I think this year has replaced last year as the winner for that title.

A few month ago we received some money from the boss of one of our friends to have a party for the kids in the community. Between their school schedule and our busy schedule we didn’t have time to do it and when our birthday month rolled around we decided to use that money to add on to the few things we were planning on doing and have a big ‘ol party…lol

It was SO fun! We had 2 giant piñatas full of candy. It was so awesome to see the kids faces when we arrived with the biggest piñatas they make in the market. It was a true blessing as we got a combo deal with the piñatas that gave us balloons, prizes for games, candy, and many other little things to give away to the kids. After all the kids had their turn, Dylan and I each got a turn at trying to bust open the piñatas; I wasn’t strong enough to break mine but Dylan destroyed his sending candy flying everywhere to which the kids went crazy!!

We just couldn't get over how big these piñatas were!

I think I spent more time laughing than actually hitting the piñata!

No Dylan isn't wearing the piñata head it's just that the piñata attacked him. Don't worry right afterwards he showed it who was boss :)

Our friend and co-worker Jon came up with a bunch of games for us to play and everyone from the adults to kids got involved and won prizes. The games ended with a water balloon toss where Dylan won again and soaked me with our balloon.  But sadly, the games didn’t end WITHOUT the kids making Dylan and I try repeatedly to do the egg race…my hands just ARE NOT steady enough for that. They even tried taping the egg to the spoon and it STILL fell…lol

Ready to play land and sea!

We were even able to get the adults involved in the games!!

It’s much easier to run with the egg on the spoon when your egg is taped!!

We then had a wonderful treat of cake, ice cream, and soda. The kids, and even the adults, were so excited by this because normally here it’s a blessing just to be able to have cake but to have ice cream and soda also was a huge treat!

Who wants cake???

Pretty sure Dylan is trying to blow the cake off the table :-P

Dylan and I were given a few gifts from some of our closest friends. This was such a beautiful gesture to us as these are people who are struggling to feed their families but they wanted to bless us with gifts. They are truly things we will cherish forever!

It was a wonderful day filled with love, laughter, friendship, family, and celebrating the amazing lives God has blessed us with. The best part for everyone else and “worst” part for me was that one of our friends brought silly string from the States and at the end of the party Dylan lured me outside and everyone covered me with silly string. That’s how you know you’re truly loved!

There was enough cans of silly string for everyone to completely cover me!

I was even "lucky" enough to get to taste some. Trust me the cake and ice cream tasted better...lol
