Prayer

Communicating persistently with God to realize His vision for the communities of Guatemala and His purpose for us within that vision.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

Cultural Relevance

Understanding the cultural foundation of the local populace to develop a strong Christ-like relationship, which would encourage the spread of the Gospel.

10 Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. 11 If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker is a foreigner to me. 12 So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.  (1 Corinthians 14:10-12)

Encouragement

Embracing hope as a result of a relationship with Christ regardless of current circumstances.

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.  (1 Thessalonians 5:14)

Family

Revealing the importance of God’s design for family and the responsibilities of its members as outlined in biblical principles and promoting the methods He has given to maintain them.

7 Prescribe these things as well, so that they may be above reproach. 8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5: 7-8)

Discipleship

Teaching people through words and action to be men and women of God who will then mentor children after God’s own heart.

It is through Him that we have received grace and apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the nations. (Romans 1:5)

Community

Partnering with the local church to establish a society focused on caring about and addressing the needs of others.

15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:15-16)
