For those of you who don’t know, October 1st is “Kids’ Day” in Guatemala (and possibly other countries around the world as well). The church here always tries to make a special event to celebrate the children in the community. Imagine our surprise when our church was overwhelmed with kids this past Sunday! They even brought kids that normally do not attend on Sundays because their parents aren’t church goers but the other children’s ministries of the church serve the kids in school during the week as well as Saturdays. One of the men I have grown close to asked me about 20 minutes into the festivities, “I might be a little confused, but what is happening?” After the opening worship songs and offering, we cleared all the chairs and began playing games with the kids. Imagine if that happened when you went to church last Sunday! A great time was had by all. Enjoy the pics below.
- These hats make me look bald!
- The older boys decided to see how many could take me down…
- I fun game where they had to pop a balloon between their bellies
- Sac races!
- Yummy tamales
- musical chairs
- I got 4 stars! (Obviously not for the cleanliness of my camera)
