As most of you know from my last blog post I had an interview at Messiah College on September 21, 2017 to see if I would be accepted to their marriage, couple and family counseling degree program.  What I didn’t include in that post (because I was trying to surprise some people) was that through the generosity of a friend I had the opportunity to be in the states for 12 days at the end of September which allowed me to have my interview in person!!

It was a great opportunity for me to meet the program director, and some of the other people who will be helping me on this journey, in person.  I had an incredible interview with the director and as I heard myself answering the questions that they asked I couldn’t help but be in awe of all the things Jesus has done in my life to perfectly equip me for this calling He has put on my life.  It was almost like I was hearing another person talk!  And then I realized, hey that’s me!!  I was so humbled to be again reminded of all of God’s grace, love and mercy for me.

At the end of the interview the director told me that I would hear from them in 1 – 2 weeks to let me know if I was accepted to the program or not.  I could hardly stand the thought of waiting that long to find out if I was moving forward with Messiah College or if I needed to start looking at other colleges.  But I knew God had everything under control and He would give me peace and patience as I waited.

As it turns out, I didn’t have to wait very long because the Lord mercifully let them respond to me the very next day with an e-mail saying: “We are happy to inform you that we would like to offer you a place in our marriage, couple and family counseling degree program.”  I was ecstatic and started sharing with everyone I could get in touch with lol.

My start date is scheduled for January 14, 2018!!  I have registered for my classes, ordered my books and continue the process of applying for grants and scholarships to cover tuition/materials costs.  I have a total of 30 different organizations that I am applying to for a grant or scholarship.  Please friends and family, join me in praying for God to continue to lead me, guide me and show me His will in all of this.  Please also pray for favor as I send in my letters and applications for grants/scholarships.

I thank you all so very much for prayerfully walking this journey with me!  Your love, prayers, encouragement and support have truly helped me to keep pushing through when I didn’t want to or didn’t think that I could do this!

The other day I read something in a devotional and it really touched my heart and encouraged me.  I’d like to share it with all of you to challenge you today to never give up on what Jesus has or is calling you to do for Him!

“Jesus sees you, right where you are. He knows you and delights in the gifts unique to you. Hold your gifts up to Him today and trust He’ll use them in ways you may not even comprehend.”

Therefore:

  • Acknowledge your gifts, even if they are in the beginning stages.
  • Hone your gifts, even if there’s a learning curve.
  • Then, use your gifts to draw others to a Savior who sees and knows them, and loves us all as His own.
