As some of you may have heard, we have been working really hard lately to continually raise support for our families we are serving here in respect to the coming school year (in January).  On October 1st, Guatemala’s National Kids’ Day, Servants, Inc. launched our first annual SARF Backpack Campaign!  The majority of school costs are incurred during the first month of the year and we are trying to raise the funds necessary to make sure the children we serve through the Serving At Risk Families (SARF) ministry are able to enroll in school.

Many of you have probably heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge where not too long ago videos were flying around the internet, mostly on Facebook, to get people to donate to the ALS foundation for research and spread the word about ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease).  Many of you know I am not one to follow the crowd.  After I was challenged by not one but two of my friends, I decided I had to respond!  The video below is my response.

We challenge you to spread the word about the SARF Backpack Campaign and be a part of breaking the cycle of poverty.  Follow the link to learn more! http://bit.ly/SARFbp
